The Oak Room

The Oak Room, Chichester is a beautifully,  fully oak panelled room located in central Chichester on the ground floor in County Hall.

The weather is overcast but the light is even and bright on a calm spring day. Inside the soft light streaming through the southerly facing windows, this allowed for a natural looking complexion in the photos.

Being chosen as Tara & Andy’s wedding photographer for the day, this privilege allowed me to be a part of my friends and colleagues big day. On the wedding day they chose close friends and family to celebrate the wedding day with them and share in the great emotion of their union.

The Oak Room and its surrounding area has a good traditional and historic architecture and grounds for a wedding day photo-shoot.

A few shots below have captured a small part of Tara & Andy’s big day.

Getting Married? The Oak Room at County Hall is a great place for a wedding day, it allows for small and intimate wedding day.

Walking down the aisle is the contemplation of the bride & groom. This is most important as his wife to be,   has accepted the groom’s proposal of their union together. This moment, the true start of the wedding ceremony is very important to capture.

The wonderful memory is seen from you own aspect. With two skilled, photographers a double aspect can be found, this wonderful moment is seen from every angle.

This episode of moments will show the great emotions of the bride & groom, friends and family.

It is amazing to see the bride walking down the aisle, hence being able to capture a double aspect of this precious moment. Most of all, it is a great pleasure to show this to the new husband and wife.

As a Sussex Wedding Photographer I get to meet fabulous couples on Engagement photo-shoot, that are always looking forward and preparing for the big day!

It is a great honour to be part of the wedding day. I will capture the bride & groom at their very best with a photo style that portrays a story as the day unfolds, also capturing beauty shots where desired.

On the grounds of the Bishops Palace Gardens at Chichester Cathedral. We decided for a simple style of photography, they sat down and I set my camera ready for the photo-shoot. We start with basic poses and they naturally developed.

As a Sussex Wedding Photographer I get to meet fabulous couples on Engagement photo-shoot, that are always looking forward and preparing for the big day! It is a great honour to be accepted as part of the wedding day plans and to ensure as the photographer that you capture the bride & groom at their very best and portray the day as they are expecting. We started at Bishops Palace Gardens at Chichester Cathedral, we decided for a simple style and as the couple were sitting and chatting, I set up my kit. When ready I spoke about basic posing techniques and started shooting portraits shots.

After Amanda & David were relaxed, they walked across the grass, they passed the bluebells, as they happily strolled along and made plans for the wedding day.

It was a gloriously sunny day and the light was good, I was able to capture the happy couple as they become more relaxed in front of the camera.

An Engagement Photo-Shoot is a perfect time to ensure the wedding plans going well and it is a privilege to confirm being the official photographer for the day.

Consider all aspects when arranging a meeting with the wedding clients for the engagement photo-shoot, early morning or evening times are best, however not always convenient.

Always try to capture the location where the wedding venue is to take place, this will enhance any ideas to make the day the best you may.

Basic Poses, is always a good starting point, the pose develops naturally, as you take the shots of the happy couple.

The Engagement Photo-Shoot is a good progression it helps ensure the couple are familiar and comfortable with the camera.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro For Local Charities

Chestnut Tree House, ST.Barnabos,charity,Ambulance

We are Carley and Tammy; a Paramedic and Technician crew for South East Coast         Ambulance Service. We are both local girls, living in Worthing. In a bid to raise money for local charities we will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in July 2017. We will be testing both our mental and physical capability over 10 days, climbing to Uhuru point, which is the peak of the Mountain at a colossal 5,895m!

With 16 months to prepare, training has already started utilising the local South Downs. We have a planned training week in April this year to North Wales, climbing Mount Tryfan (917m) as well as the neighbouring and well established climb of Mount Snowdon to an ascent at 1085m.

Our chosen charities are Chestnut Tree House and St Barnabas House in Sussex. Working for the ambulance service we have close contact with both patients and families alike who need the extensive services of these charities. We see the invaluable comfort and care they provide. Over the years we have built some great relationships with the staff at these units and have been honoured to assist in palliative care. They have in our eyes, become essential for end of life support.

Both are voluntary organisations receiving less than 7p in every pound from the Government and rely heavily on the generosity, help and support of the people of Sussex. Chestnut Tree House treat, support, and care for all children with life limiting disabilities. They provide the best quality of care throughout each child’s life however short it may be. Since 1973 St Barnabas House remains the primary centre in Worthing for adults with Cancer and other life changing illnesses. They offer continued help and support from for symptom management, respite care, or end of life care.

We are looking for local Companies to help us raise £10,000 for our charities. This will make a genuine difference for both charities in order to continually provide the excellent care and support that they give to so many.

Claire & Damians Wedding Day

A wonderful day, it was understated and laid back, this suited the couple well. The ceremony was held at Chichester in an amazing venue that helps set the mood for a traditional wedding day.

The close and intimate ceremony had been arranged by Claire with her family old and new, it was late afternoon and some fantastic sunlight started to stream through the windows and just added to the day.

It is a privilege to be the photographer for the day

A models portfolio has been created at the Northbrook Barn Studio, it took 2 hours for Rebecca to pose her many costume designs and looks, there are portraits and full length photos captured below. The studio scene was changed with different backgrounds, the lighting tended to be of a high key, to add depth I allowed soft shadows to help contrast the highlights. Rebecca was a fantastic model and I look forward to our next photo-shoot on location.
